The Creamy Welsh Cider and onion soup is absolutely delicious. The lamb chops do not have many meats, the salad and chips captures more percentage of the whole dish. The Wrexham Lager is good and from Welsh, the price is not high(6.5 pounds), I drank for two

One Of The Best Restaurant's I've been in whole Britain. Delicious Food. Amazing light fresh lamb. I suggest you Lamb Platter for two. Great lamb meat and stunning fresh salad like you never eat before. Our servant was Samira wich help us with our choices and serve well during stay. Next time visiting Welsh coast this place is MUST TO BE.

The dinner choice of our first night in Cardiff shall go unnamed; the importance of the experience is the motivation it stirred to find what we really wanted. And we did: The Welsh House is a must for food and cocktails. The parsnip, butternut squash, and red lentil pie topped with mushy peas is so good we made reservations for the following night. And the mixologist has proven his bonafides: happily recommend both the Welsh Whiskey Sour and the Aber Bramble. Best to make reservations and not hope for a seating without one!

We dined at The Welsh House in Cardiff for an evening meal, and the experience was delightful. The restaurant serves authentic Welsh cuisine, and the atmosphere is cosy, perfect for a relaxed meal. For starters, we had a variety of dishes: the potato leek soup, which came with a small loaf and a hearty slab of Welsh cheese, was deliciously comforting. The warm cockles with bacon on sourdough bread were incredibly tasty, adding a wonderful salty richness. The potted pig with toasted bread tasted like high-quality ham—flavorful and satisfying. Moving on to the mains, we enjoyed the pork belly with roast potatoes, where the pork was succulent and cooked to perfection. The Welsh leg of lamb with potatoes and vegetables, served in a savoury gravy, was equally flavorful and tender. We also tried the shepherd's pie, topped with crispy mashed potatoes and served with seasonal vegetables (peas, broad beans, and cabbage). The shepherd's pie had a nice texture, though I found it slightly too salty for my preference. For dessert, we indulged in a chocolate brownie, which was perfectly gooey on the inside and topped with a scoop of vanilla ice cream and a fresh strawberry. A sweet, satisfying way to end the meal. The service was excellent, with attentive and friendly staff. Overall, The Welsh House is a wonderful restaurant, and I highly recommend it for those looking to experience traditional Welsh flavours.

The Welsh House was recommended to us for authentic cooking and we truly enjoyed our experience. On a windy summer day, the staff and food were warm and welcoming. We loved the Sunday roast - pork and beef were both delicious options. And the teenage boy who does not like mushrooms even enjoyed the rarebit. Thanks for a great dinner. We would definitely return again.

I had a bad experience at the restaurant across the street due to which I chose this place to try authentic Welsh cuisine and it's the best decision I made. The staff were friendly, hospitable and checked if we needed anything. I initially wanted to try lamb cawl but they only serve it in lunch, so a heads up on it. I had shepherd's pie with steamed vegetables which was amazing. The crushed new potatoes were good but lacked seasoning. The welsh rarebit had a great presentation and was way better than any grilled cheese sandwich I ever had. My server was nice enough to arrange a welsh cake without any alcohol content. Definitely would recommend this place.

The food was awesome! You have to have the fries as they make them so that the middle tastes like mashed potatoes! Tye chicken with leak sauce was out of this world! Prices were very reasonable.

My husband and I visited The Welsh House in Cardiff this afternoon and opted for their 3-course festive menu. The food was absolutely gorgeous—each course was beautifully presented and full of flavor. I also sampled several cocktails, all of which were delightful and perfectly crafted. The service was excellent despite the restaurant being extremely busy, with the staff working flat out to keep everything running smoothly. However, I must mention the limited seating; it felt a little cramped. They turned away numerous people who did not have reservations as well. The floor space could be put to much better use with extra tables added to facilitate more seating and thereby make the company more money. Additionally, every time the door opened, we were hit with a chilly blast of air, which was less than ideal on a cold evening. Overall, The Welsh House delivered on food, drinks, and service, but a bit more comfort would make it even better. We’d happily return for the delicious menu and warm hospitality!
